Announcing our 2020 Promotions

By Stephen Bates, AIA, NCARB, President

We are very pleased to announce the promotion of two new Associates in the firm!

Our Firm Leadership recognizes Christin Troutman, CID, CHID, IIDA and Veronica Plischke, AIA, NCARB as new Associates, effective January 1, 2020, for their ongoing contributions and future professional potential. We hope that their new roles will assist them in achieving their stated professional goals, while they continue to contribute in significant ways to the overall success of the firm.

Christin joined MCA as Senior Interior Designer in July of 2018. A graduate of Philadelphia University with a BSc. in Interior Design, Christin has over 15 years of experience, including serving 7 years as Facilities Designer and Project Manager for LifeBridge Health System. Since joining MCA, she has shown leadership in organizing and improving our approach to Interior Design, and particularly in promoting a more integrated approach to our practice between Interior Design and Architecture, an initiative that is still ongoing. She joined our standards committee to ensure that this coordination and collaboration extends to our technical production. We look forward to growing both the quality and influence of our Interior Design practice under her leadership, in parallel with the growth of the firm over the coming years.

Veronica joined MCA in June of 2014, as a Bachelor of Architecture graduate of Virginia Tech College of Architecture and Urban Studies, where she also obtained a minor in Urban Policy and Planning. During that time, she also served as Secretary of the Virginia Tech Global Architecture Brigade and as Team Leader for VT’s major annual charity drive, “The Big Event”. Since joining MCA, she has taken over as an effective leader in her role as Chair of our Education and Training Committee, a critically important initiative here at the firm. She became a registered architect in January, 2018 and has continued to hone her professional skills while becoming a valued member of our professional staff. She has enthusiastically taken on challenging project travel assignments, several at the “last minute”, including spending several weeks in Wyoming on a challenging schools facilities assessment assignment, and on recent week-long trips to Joshua Tree and Little Bighorn National Monuments for programming assignments. We look forward to continuing to see her positive professional growth over the coming years.

Christin and Veronica represent some of what is best in our firm – a positive and collegial “can-do” approach, a conscientiousness in achieving quality work and providing excellent client service, and a commitment to the profession that they have chosen as their careers. We wish them the best moving forward, and congratulate them sincerely for achieving their well-deserved new positions.
