Last month I attended the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) – Post-Disaster Safety Assessment Program (SAP) training offered by AIA Maryland in Savage, MD. As an SAP evaluator, I may be called upon to deploy throughout the United States to evaluate buildings damaged by manmade or natural disasters, to review their suitability for reoccupation. SAP training is mandatory for Architectural & Engineering consultants working with the Architect of the Capitol in Washington D.C. The training went really well – very useful and informative information.
