MCA Project: Johns Hopkins Hospital Skyline Café
The café is designed to ease the discomforts of oncology patients while they can take in a view that rivals most high-end restaurants in the area. The culinary team and MCA met with Oncology patients on several counts to truly understand what the needs of a patient are and how design elevates the dining experience for patients and staff.
Thoughtful interior details such as bold colors and gentle textures are used to generate the feeling of warmth and comfort during the healing process. Furniture gives guests the option to sit by themselves or enjoy others’ company all while taking in expansive views of Downtown Baltimore. Doctors also have the option to grab a quick bite and take a moment out of their busy schedules.
