MCA Building Assessment: The Judge Advocate General’s School (TJAGS)

By Veronica Plischke Evans, AIA, NCARB, Senior Associate

The Judge Advocate General’s School (TJAGS), on the University of Virginia’s campus, is the premier legal education institution in the federal government.

MCA worked with design teammate Facility Engineering Associates, P.C. (FEA) to assess the TJAGS building and provide expert advice on how to proceed with a phased renovation. The team performed a Building Conditions Assessment which analyzed the library, conference rooms, offices, auditoriums, residences, and lobby space.

MCA has been working as team architect with Facility Engineering Associates, P.C. (FEA) since 2014 providing assessments and planning and for capital improvement projects. Together, we have jointly serviced universities, public school districts, and DOT facilities across the country. Since 2019, MCA and FEA have collaborated on over 30 national parks as part of an ongoing contract with the National Park Service.
