Congratulations Howard Community College !

By John Morrel, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, Principal

MCA would like to congratulate Howard Community College (HCC) on the grand opening of the newly renovated Howard Hall and Academic Commons, two of the oldest buildings on HCC’s Campus. Last week, the college celebrated the completion of the two buildings with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and were excited to reveal their new look and features. During the ceremony, MCA was recognized by HCC, County and State leaders for our work leading the design team on the renovation, which totaled over 108,000 gross square feet. A notable feature of the project is flexible classroom design that incorporates robust instructional technology to support evolving teaching styles and allows for multiple active learning configurations within the same room. It is anticipated that the project will achieve Gold level LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

MCA, Associate Architect SLAM Collaborative and our consultant team are very proud to be a part of this significant project that provides completely updated learning, office, collaboration and informal gathering spaces for all members of the HCC community.
