MCA Welcomes New Associate Principal

By Stephen Bates, AIA, NCARB, President

Olivia Jacobson joined MCA in June as our new Director of Marketing and Business Development. She joins the firm as an Associate Principal.

Originally a graduate of California State University, for the past 11 years Olivia has been servicing the marketing needs of Lewis Contractors—for the last 4 years in the role of Director of Business Development.  Lewis, a well-respected general contractor and construction manager in the Baltimore region, has completed many successful and significant projects with MCA.  As such, Olivia came on board with the advantage of already being familiar with our firm, our culture, and our portfolio of work.

We have great respect for her organizational and leadership abilities and have been immediately impressed by her positive, “can do” approach as she tackles day-to-day challenges. Within the past couple of years, Olivia has completed the renowned FMI Professional Development Program for Marketing Strategies, attended the week-long FMI Leadership Institute in Colorado, and completed the 9-week Dale Carnegie Leadership Training course. We look forward to seeing how Olivia applies her industry experience and education to extend MCA’s reach and promote our brand throughout our service sectors.

Olivia is also well connected and involved in AEC industry—she is currently serving on the Executive Board for the Baltimore Architecture Foundation and the Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools where she serves as Chair of the Advisory Committee.  In addition, she is a member of Women in Healthcare, the AIA Historic Resources Committee, and sits on the Architect/General Contractor Roundtable for Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Baltimore.

A few fun facts: Olivia says she enjoys outfitting her mid-century modern home in Baltimore County with eclectic treasures and second-hand finds, getting off the grid in her vintage 1985 Jayco pop-up camper, and country-roads cruising in the family Jeep for a little “wind therapy”—top down, doors off, music up.

Please join us in welcoming Olivia to the MCA team!
