MCA’s Recommitment to Green Initiatives for the New Year

By Kenneth Chow, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, Senior Associate

While those January resolutions may lose momentum a few weeks into the new year, we’re (re)committing to our Greens instead!

Did you know that MCA has a proprietary in-house tool to help our design teams communicate, review, and document responsible options for our clients interested in LEED Certification? Regardless of whether a project pursues this certification, MCA I GreenTalk™ allows us to discuss the details of sustainable design, its effectiveness and true feasibility, and strategic plans to track progress for environmental responsibility in the built world. In addition, MCA is a signatory of the AIA 2030 Commitment, a set of targets for improving energy efficiency and reducing the carbon emissions of buildings in order to reach carbon neutrality by 2030.

Our commitment to efficiency and sustainable practices at the firm level includes increased staff accreditation plans, researching and implementing best practice approaches with our Sustainability Committee, and sharing lessons learned with our colleagues and communities.
