National Park Service – High Priority Project Facilities Assessments and Scope Definition

By Stephen Bates, AIA, NCARB, President

MCA is pleased to join Facility Engineering Associates, P.C. (FEA), working with the National Park Service (NPS) to conduct facilities assessments and conceptual scope development for the national parks in the Western Region.

FEA, headquartered in Washington, D.C. with offices throughout the U.S., is nationally recognized for providing a range of facilities management and assessment services. MCA is honored to have worked with them on past projects for major universities, K-12 school systems, state governments, and federal agencies.

MCA will be working – both in the field and at our Baltimore headquarters – as team architect with FEA and NPS to provide a conceptual scope of work development on high-priority projects identified by NPS, including park facilities, infrastructure, historic structures, and monuments. With the project slightly delayed by the recent partial government shutdown, MCA is looking forward to getting back in the field with our colleagues in the very near future – starting at Petrified Forest National Park, AZ.

Throughout the course of this project, MCA will be documenting the various locations visited under the NPS Series. Stay tuned!
