University of Maryland, Shore Regional Health at Easton | Easton, MD

As the first phase of Easton’s Emergency and Outpatient Care expansion, the new ED improves patient care in several key ways, including improving the overall environment and privacy, increasing patient safety, and providing state-of-the-art facilities for dealing with bio-terrorism and mass decontamination. In addition to increased capacity, the ED offers features designed to decrease wait times, including two private triage rooms located at the walk-in entrance, in-house diagnostic tools that allow patients to be diagnosed and treated more quickly.

Project Highlights

  • Shifted patient volumes and acuities with Express Care Unit designed to flex with ED
  • Improved poor vehicular traffic flow for the ambulances and walk-in patients
