Anthony is an Associate Principal with MCA and serves as the Practice Leader for MCA’s Historic + Adaptive Reuse studio, having served for over 20 years in the architecture profession. He has amassed expertise in construction management and architectural design for many building types, including assembly, business, educational, industrial research & development, institutional, mercantile, residential, sustainable and particularly historic properties.
His particular approach to Historic + Adaptive Reuse projects often involves in-depth research to restore and modernize facilities using the latest advancements in technology while working closely with the project team to develop building-appropriate solutions. As an effective facilitator, Anthony has earned a reputation for being responsive and thorough. He seeks to foster a collaborative environment where all parties benefit from involvement.
Anthony serves as the Chair of AIA Baltimore’s Practice Management Committee and is a Board Member of the Baltimore Architecture Foundation (BAF) where he is the Chair of the BAF Publications Committee. He has also served as Chair of MCA’s AIA National award-winning Education & Training Committee, which is tasked with implementing mentorship programs and organizing continuing education programs that help to improve the quality of professional practice at MCA.
In 2018, Anthony was honored to be selected as a Visiting Scholar to the American Academy in Rome to study ‘The Culture of Practice,’ which is a study focused on evaluating the similarities and cultural differences between Italian and American design firms. He also recently graduated from the inaugural AIA National class of the Leadership Academy in 2023.
A recipient of numerous design awards while at Penn State, Anthony participated in the Sedi di Roma program and American Indian Housing Initiative (AIHI), which erected straw bale structures at the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. He is also a graduate of AIA Baltimore’s Civic Lab and he enjoys serving his community through various board appointments and regional associations.
Anthony remains an active participant in the local academic community as well by returning to Penn State and Morgan State University to act as a visiting guest critic to review the work of future graduates in the school’s NAAB nationally accredited architecture programs.
