John holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design. With 12 years of experience in the industry, John has amassed a broad range of architectural experience that spans federal government, science and technology, private enterprise, and higher-ed design. And with a portfolio that also extends to include space planning efforts, residential design, and historic preservation, John’s clients often have one thing in common—complex design needs.

A forward-thinking problem-solver, John works with his clients to achieve designs that accommodate the complexity of their environment. With a strong background in both art and design, John sees each as a universal language for connecting and communicating with his project teams. John’s goal of using design to safeguard and improve our spaces brings deep insight and purpose to each project he touches.

As a construction-focused designer, and through collaboration with contractors, John has developed a reputation in the firm for his ability to guide a project seamlessly though construction administration. John says he especially enjoys working on the construction phase of projects—and with the skilled tradesmen executing his designs—because of the opportunities offered to assess constructability in the field.

Did you know that …

John learned hand drafting while serving his first summer internship—well past the days when hand drafting went the way of AutoCAD and Revit. He says he still enjoys fleshing out creative ideas with a pencil, eraser, and T-square because it deepens his appreciation for thoughtful and intentional design.
