Steve has a comprehensive professional background. He has worked with numerous national organizations, including Johns Hopkins University and the Smithsonian Institution. His design and management experience ranges from mission critical facilities for Verizon to significant Healthcare projects to high-hazard manufacturing facilities for international brand leaders.

Steve’s academic design experience is particularly extensive. He has worked on the wide variety of project types that typify modern educational settings, including learning spaces, science and research labs, student life, student housing, athletics, recreation, and infrastructure. Steve continues to guide our academic studio and remains a senior academic planner.

Steve is a respected leader in the design industry. He has authored and edited statewide standards for educational technology and facilities design. He has participated in speaking engagements for numerous professional organizations and has served in several civic leadership roles in the past, including Executive Committee member and President of the Construction Industry Educational Foundation, and the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee for the Southern York County (PA) School District from 2002-2015. Most importantly, throughout his career, Steve has fostered many multi-year, multi-project relationships. His dedication exemplifies MCA’s mission to provide superior design and service to our valuable clients.

As President, Steve focuses on long-range planning, quality control, and ensuring that our teams are provided with the support, tools, and work environment they need to deliver successful projects for our clients. He promotes an ethical, collaborative, inclusive, and creative practice. Through his example, MCA achieves the highest standards of professionalism, technical proficiency, and design.
