By Stephen Bates, AIA, NCARB, President

MCA recognizes Veronica Plischke, AIA for her contributions and success as Chair of our in-house Education & Training (E&T) Committee. A graduate of the Virginia Tech College of Architecture and Urban Studies, while with MCA Veronica has developed expertise in several building types, making particularly notable contributions in cultural projects for major museums and for the National Park Service, while also devoting her efforts towards ensuring that we maintain a first-class continuing education program..

Under Veronica’s capable leadership, the E&T Committee coordinates a robust program of year-round educational opportunities, including in-house presentations, training sessions, construction site visits, monthly “Creativity Cafes” and more, to ensure that our professional staff continues to grow and learn. Our employees can gain all State and AIA Continuing Education credits through our program but are also encouraged to seek outside educational experiences where possible. Our Committee was established over 20 years ago, has twice won the National AIA Award for Education & Training programs, and was invited to present our methodology at the AIA Adaptable Strategies for Powerful Professionals Conference in Tucson.

Thanks to Veronica, and all members of the Committee, for all your hard work – we look forward to what you have in store for the future!
