The masterplan established a new front entry for Peninsula Regional Medical Center by shifting the campus focus from the old main entrance to a new emergency and critical care patient tower. The design of major clinical spaces included a new 90,000-SF Emergency Department, a 42-bed Critical Care Unit, a 60-bed Medical/Surgical Inpatient Unit, the Heart Center, the Comprehensive Cancer Center, Imaging, Surgery, Labs, and Inpatient Nursing Units. Other departments affected are Education/Conference Space, the Pharmacy, MIS, Materials Management, Rapid Admit, a new Helipad, Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, and the Special Care Nursery.
